According to the web site Madden-School.com, the Indianapolis Colts top ten players’ Madden ‘21 ratings have already been leaked—although the popular pro football video game does not officially release until August 28, 2020:
Indianapolis Colts
Quenton Nelson – 94
T.Y. Hilton – 87
DeForest Buckner – 87
Anthony Castonzo – 85
Ryan Kelly – 85
Justin Houston – 85
Marlon Mack – 85
Darius Leonard – 85
Malik Hooker – 82
Philip Rivers – 82
The ratings of a number of Colts’ rookies have already been unveiled as well including Jonathan Taylor (73), Michael Pittman Jr. (71), Dezmon Patmon (64), and Jacob Eason (63)—who also has the game’s 7th highest QB throw power, among them.
Now, I know what you’re already going to say before you say it: Madden hasn’t been that fun in years and needs to dramatically improve their franchise mode—and you know, you’re certainly not wrong.
That being said, it’s the dog days of summer. We’re a little over two weeks from training camp during an ongoing pandemic—and this makes for a nice conversation piece—if nothing else.
In general, the ratings for the Colts’ top ten players seem relatively fair.
However, Quenton Nelson should really be nothing less than a 98 overall, and both DeForest Buckner and Darius Leonard belong in the 90+ overall ratings in my opinion respectively—as a pair of reigning NFL All-Pros.
I’d also be interested to know where Braden Smith is exactly—who at least belongs in the mid-80’s as far as an overall rating—even with Madden sometimes being stingy in its player evaluation.
While we’re all hoping that Madden actually improves the game play and franchise mode this year, the ratings for each year’s Colts team are always interesting to see (and potentially argue with). This year is no different regarding the franchise’s top players.
