Dre’Mont Jones says he’s feeling more comfortable in the defense in his second year

NFL: Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

The second year defensive lineman joins Broncos Country Tonight.

Dre’Mont Jones joined Ryan Edwards and Benjamin Allbright on Broncos Country Tonight to talk about how camp is going so far and how the offseason has been.

Jones said he is feeling much more comfortable going into his second year and really settling into the defense. When discussing the difference this year with his rookie year, here’s what he had to say:

“Just comfortability. I’m getting super comfortable in this defense. I know what to expect now. Last year I was a little bit on my toes because it was like a whole new defense coming from a 4-3 to a 3-4 which was a different change for me, but now going through a year of it, I feel really good.”

The second year Jones also talked about the good mix of young and old on the defensive line. He and McTelvin Agim are 23 and 22, respectively with guys like Harris, Purcell and Casey all having over five years of experience in the NFL.

He also talked about the vocal leadership that Jurrell Casey brings to the Dline this year that they didn’t really have last year, and how they’re focused on creating turnovers as an overall defense this year. Check out the full interview here or in the player above.

I broke down Dre’Mont Jones’ game a few weeks ago as part of our roster review series and came away really impressed with how he closed out the season.

I think he’s in a great spot to come in on a snap count and make impact plays rotating in on along the defensive line. It’ll be fun to see him progress.
