While the first two weeks of training built up to the point where several of last week’s practices went two hours or more, none of the upcoming practices are scheduled to last more than 90 minutes. That could be an indication that practices will begin to have more of a regular season flavor without quite as much physicality as the Giants have displayed the last two weeks.
The Giants’ 53-man roster perhaps began to take shape on Saturday when the Giants surprisingly cut running back Javon Leake as one of two moves to make room for cornerbacks Brandon Williams and KeiVarae Russell. That is likely an indication that Wayne Gallman is secure and newly-signed Tavien Feaster could be headed to the practice squad.
The Giants have interesting decisions to make all across the roster. That will make Thursday’s scrimmage at MetLife Stadium critical for many bubble players. Roster cuts should also be interesting because of the likely unpredictability caused by having a first-year head coach.
Anyway, Giants fans, your final week of training camp begins on Sunday.
