Which team will win Super Bowl LV?
Kevin Patra: Chiefs over Saints. The two deepest teams with little turnover during a COVID-influenced season find their way to the Super Bowl. The Saints finally get over the NFC hump only to find more heartbreak as Patrick Mahomes leads a late fourth-quarter drive to swipe Drew Brees’ second Lombardi.
Scott Pioli: Chiefs over Saints. The Saints will be in a season-long battle to win the division, but their team continuity will carry them in 2020. They will be strong in January, but unable to beat the best team in football in February.

Breech: The Chiefs will likely be my “best bet” to win the Super Bowl every season until Patrick Mahomes retires, so you should probably get used to reading that in this section for the next decade or so.
DeArdo: While their division should be more challenging than it was a year ago, the Chiefs should be in position to successfully defend their title when the 2020 playoffs begin. The Chiefs are expecting big things from rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who scored 16 touchdowns while averaging 6.6 yards per carry during his final season at LSU.
The thing that helps the Chiefs’ staying power, Harris said, doesn’t get as much ink as the individual brilliance of Mahomes, who has a 10-year contract, or Jones, who recently signed a five-year deal.
It’s the high floor provided from having Andy Reid, a coach bound for Canton, at the top of the pyramid, along with the consistency of a staff that spawned future NFL head coaches such as Doug Peterson (Philadelphia) and Matt Nagy (Chicago).
The Chiefs have won at least 10 games in six of Reid’s seven seasons in Kansas City; reached the postseason in six of those seven years; played in the AFC title game twice; and, this past February, brought home the franchise’s first Super Bowl crown in 50 years.

We tend to associate all-in signing frenzies with desperation, but that’s not quite fair when it comes to Tampa Bay. The bones of this team were extremely good in 2019. Solid on both lines, a young devastating pass rush. While their 7-9 record seems at first glance like a mediocre team in desperation mode, there’s more to this at second glance.
Six of the team’s losses came by a touchdown or less. This is unheard of when considering Winston turned the ball over 33 times. Football logic tells us that those kind of prolific turnover should give far too much power to opposing teams, and yet the Bucs managed to hang in games on the back of their defense, and arguably league-best wide receiving corps. This means that while the major shift in personnel may seem like throwing things against the wall and hoping they stick, there’s real potential that a few tweaks, with a move towards ball security and reliability will do enough to turn the tide.
Seahawks re-sign suspended wide receiver Josh Gordon | ESPN
Gordon caught seven passes for 139 yards in five games last season with the Seahawks, who claimed the one-time Pro Bowler when he was released off injured reserve by the New England Patriots last November.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said in early August that the team was “very open” to a reunion with Gordon while also acknowledging interest in another suspended wide receiver, Antonio Brown. The Seahawks liked the way Gordon conducted himself in their building last season, and their coaching staff trusts him, two factors that made Gordon a more likely addition than Brown.

The lack of clarity surrounding future scheduling further complicates matters. North Dakota State, for instance, announced in mid-August that it would postpone its entire season; it changed course a few weeks later and scheduled an October 3 matchup with Central Arkansas, ostensibly to give quarterback Trey Lance (a projected first-round pick) a chance to showcase his skills in front of scouts. The Big Ten is reportedly considering a return to football in the late fall or early winter―a decision that could spur the Pac-12 to follow suit―and there’s talk of an accelerated spring season that would wrap by mid-March. That latter possibility would obviously disrupt the typical NFL pre-draft calendar, which has the Senior Bowl slated for late January and the NFL combine in late February. The draft could be moved back to as late as June 2, too, according to the league’s CBA.

17. Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs have a couple superstars on their defense. Interior defensive lineman Chris Jones he has firmly established himself as the second-best 3-tech in the NFL behind Aaron Donald these last couple of seasons. He’s produced a 93.2 pass-rush grade at the alignment in that span, well ahead of third at 90.7.
The “Honey Badger” — Tyrann Mathieu — is a versatile piece and great wherever he is on the field, but his slot coverage came in huge for the Chiefs down the stretch in their Super Bowl run. Matheiu’s usage there increased during the season and no one played better there in the second half. From Week 11 through their Super Bowl victory over the ‘Niners, Mathieu produced the highest slot coverage grade in the NFL and led the league in plays made on ball with seven.
Treash had the San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills as the league’s top defenses. The Chiefs will face three of those units in 2020, so we’d better hope that Treash’s confidence in the Chiefs’ offense is well-justified.
