Justin Reid Played 2019 Season with a Torn Labrum

Justin Reid played the 2019 season with a torn labrum, and that’s pretty amazing.

I just cannot even imagine.

Dude, you dominated this year WITH A TORN LABRUM.

If you’ve never had a torn labrum, good for you, because it’s really painful. The labrum acts as a stabilizer for the shoulder joint. Depending on the severity of the injury, a torn labrum can lead to subluxation and even complete disclocation of the humeral head of the shoulder joint. There is nothing I’ve had remotely akin to the shoulder subluxating out of the joint, then audibly and grotesquely popping back in so loudly others around can hear it. Yep. /barfs

That Justin Reid played through this type of injury is utterly amazing to me. Reid is one of the best young safeties in the game today, and I cannot wait to see him play while healthy.

(For those of you who care about such silliness, Reid ranked 12th for safeties by ProFootballFocus with at least 50% of snaps, which outranked Tyrann Mathieu [16th]. This is 100% correct, for that comparison, at least.)
