Fantasy Football Week 7 streaming options: Substitutes for the Packers’ studs

With the Packers on a bye, we look at a few options to stream in place the production of Rodgers, Adams and Graham for fantasy this week.

The Green Bay Packers are on a bye this week which is sad, but on the bright side, they’re guaranteed not to lose. We’re going glass half-full following that Week 6 win! Leaving Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, and Jimmy Graham on your bench for the week generally doesn’t sound like the best case scenario to catch a win in the middle of the fantasy season. For the most part, they’ve been consistent starts no matter what matchup they’ve faced.

So we’re going to do our best to help you find some waiver-wire streams to give you some solid production. They won’t match Adams’ 19-20 points per game, but hopefully they can fill in the holes adequately. These options are still relatively available on waivers, so grab them up before Sunday morning if you can.

QB substitution: Baker Mayfield, CLE

It’s time to unleash the rookie QB on your fantasy opponents. He’s only 40% owned in ESPN leagues, so there’s a solid chance that Baker’s still on the waiver wire for you this week to replace Rodgers. Mayfield’s been somewhat up-and-down since he took over for Tyrod Taylor in Week 3, but his budding rapport with David Njoku and other younger weapons is intriguing.

What’s more, the Browns take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are dead last in pass DVOA and are letting up a league-high 355.8 passing yards per game. The Bucs have also given up 9.3 yards per pass, so if Antonio Calloway can hang on to some deep passes, there are some big points on the table.

WR subtitution: Keke Coutee, HOU

Coutee has been an effective slot receiver for the past three weeks and is becoming a safety valve for Deshaun Watson. After Cole Beasley ran wild all over the Jaguars defense in Week 6, there’s a strong chance Coutee is used in the same fashion.

He’s still available, being owned in 33% of ESPN leagues. Still seeing a healthy amount of targets, Coutee is averaging 15 points per contest in ESPN leagues over the past three weeks. There’s a strong chance that the Jaguars re-solidify themselves after getting blown out in Jerry World, but Coutee is good enough to take a look at regardless.

TE substitution: C.J. Uzomah, CIN

Since Tyler Eifert went down, Uzomah has been the primary tight end for a Bengals team that is tied for 5th in passing touchdowns (14). While Uzomah has only been on the receiving end for one of those scores, he might be due for another. It’s taking a little bit for Uzomah to really become a legitimate option, but his six catch, 54-yard game against Pittsburgh was promising. His seven targets during the game were second only to A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd, and Andy Dalton was looking for Uzomah to pick up large chunks of yards.

If the connection is more solid against a Kansas City team that is 27th in DVOA defending tight ends, then Uzomah should put in a solid outing. He’s still only 30% owned, so grab him and maybe hang on to him as the bye weeks pile up over the next couple weeks. Good tight end talent is hard to secure this season. Just keep an eye on the injury report, as Uzomah was limited in practice this week.
