Odell Beckham might not be on the trading block, but teams are still calling
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is reporting that the New York Giants have been receiving trade offers for superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The #Giants actually were getting calls about Odell Beckham Jr. this week and were getting decent offers, per @JayGlazer. The plan is to "pump the brakes" and keep him for now.

The report isn’t surprising, as the Giants have signaled to the rest of the NFL that they are open for business and willing to listen to trade offers.
The Giants trading Beckham away would, however, be surprising. The team just signed Beckham to a blockbuster 5-year contract this year, and he remains one of the very best receivers in the entire NFL. Beckham’s age and the length of his contract means that he would be under contract and in the prime of his career when the Giants make their eventual move from Eli Manning to the next quarterback. Whoever that might be would likely be landing in a much better environment to succeed with Beckham than without him.
However, the language of the report, as well as Dave Gettleman’s hesitance to embrace Beckham on the team and Pat Shurmur’s public rebuff of Beckham’s public criticism should give pause. It might not be written in stone that Beckham is looked at by the Giants’ brass as a cornerstone piece of the next era of Giants’ offensive football.
