Packers CB Jaire Alexander questionable to return vs. Bills with groin injury

After recording an early interception, the rookie was injured in the second half.

In the first half of Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander intercepted Bills quarterback Josh Allen. That was Alexander’s first interception of his rookie season — or at least the first one that counted, as he had one wiped away by a roughing the passer penalty on Clay Matthews in week two.

However, Alexander left the field in the second half, reportedly with a groin injury. He was officially announced as questionable to return to the game.

Alexander’s pick came in the end zone, as Allen heaved a prayer into the end zone that was easily intercepted. He also added a pair of tackles in the game.

On the first drive without Alexander, the Packers got a sack on a blitz from the slot by Jermaine Whitehead. That might have been Alexander’s spot had he not been off the field.

This leaves the Packers a bit thin at cornerback for the remainder of the game, with just three other corners active for the game. If he cannot return, the Packers will have to make do with Tramon Williams, Josh Jackson, and rookie Tony Brown.
