Packers power rankings, Week 8: No game, no change for Green Bay

The Packers come out of their bye in the same place on the power rankings as a week earlier.

Sometimes, a bye week will help a team climb the power rankings due to the actions of others or result in a fall due to recency bias. In the case of the 2018 Green Bay Packers, a week off has done absolutely nothing to affect their place in the SB Nation NFL power rankings, which slots the team at No. 13.

The lack of change reflects the state of the Packers. While Aaron Rodgers and several other key players expect to return healthy this week, the upcoming schedule looks like a death march, with road trips against the Los Angeles Rams, New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, and Minnesota Vikings over the next month. Green Bay will need to pull a few upsets in order to right their season.

The rest of the NFC North hasn’t moved much either. The Vikings remain locked in at No. 7 while the Chicago Bears moved up one spot to No. 11. The Detroit Lions made the only sizable leap of the group, jumping up seven spots to No. 17.

Elsewhere on the internet, the Packers fell in a similar location. ESPN ranked them 12th while NFL.com slots them in at No. 13. Both USA Today and Yahoo Sports ranked Green Bay 11th.
