Minnesota Vikings News and Links: November 20, 2018

We’ve gotten one day further away from the stench of Sunday’s offensive “performance”, which was quite offensive

Merry Tuesday, everyone!

Hey, Tuesdays are a lot better when they fall on the day before a Friday. They should have us work three-day weeks more often, this is rather enjoyable. That reminds me, what does everyone have planned for Thanksgiving? I mean, football, food, and family is a given. The real question is, what type of delicious creations do you plan to make that day? I’m going with my annual tradition of cooking a turkey on the smoker. I started this delectable tradition about 3 or 4 years ago, and it gets better every year as I learn new ways to tweak the recipe or new tricks to coax more goodness out of the smoker. Man, I cannot wait. I’m hungry now.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Eric highlights (or lowlights) five game-changing plays from Sunday’s...........game.

Mzahorsky thinks that Mike Zimmer needs to be on the hot seat. (I don’t agree)

The Vikings have the best safety in the NFL, per Chris. That safety may even win the full-time starting position if he keeps this up.

Anthony Barr has no plans to sit out on Sunday when Green Bay comes to town.

Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the NFL:

At Vikings.com, Deion Sanders is a man I can agree with, he says the Vikings are still the class of the NFC North. Time will prove us right. Sunday’s offense still sucked, though. Don’t do that again, offense. Wobby and PA torture themselves by talking about Sunday’s “game”, and there’s more to look through in the media vault.

At ESPN, Courtney Cronin looks at Mike Zimmer’s comment that the offensive playbook may have too much volume. If, by volume, he means sh**I, then I agree. They should rent a skid loader and clean it out.

From CBS Sports, the NFL made some other last-minute changes to last night’s game, as they replaced several of the scheduled officials, including the referee, Jerome Boger. I have comments to make, but I should save them for the......comments area. You all will find this hard to believe, but my sense of humor gets me in trouble sometimes, but it hasn’t gotten me in trouble on this site (miraculously) yet, so I’ll try to keep it that way.

Speaking of last night’s game, the Rams beat the Chiefs 54-51 in a rare Monday Night Basketball prime-time match-up...........Oh, I’m watching the highlights here on NFL.com and I guess it was actually football that they played. My bad, I didn’t get a chance to watch the game & I made an assumption when I saw the score. Sorry about that.

We come to today’s media selection:

That story about our safety made me think of this song, so here you go. This is Men Without Hats, enjoy!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

  • No discussion of politics or religion
  • No feeding of the trolls
  • This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
  • Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
  • Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
  • No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
  • If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
  • While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, and try the road kill
