Bengals and Rams trying to land Eric Henderson, per report

Zac Taylor is competing with his former team for an assistant coach.

The Bengals aren’t done filling out their coaching staff, as Zac Taylor has his eye on a former Bengal.

According to Alex Marvez, the Bengals and Rams are trying to add defensive line coach eric Henderson to their respective staffs:

As Marvez notes, Henderson was an NFL defensive lineman who played with the Bengals from 2006-08 after going undrafted out of Georgia Tech. After his stint in Cincinnati ended, Henderson played for the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League.

Once his playing career ended, Henderson jumped into the coaching ranks as a defensive assistant at Georgia Military College, where he worked with the outside linebackers and secondary.

In 2013, Henderson became a graduate assistant at Oklahoma State for two years, then was promoted to defensive quality control coach in 2015. He then spent the 2016 season as a defensive line coach at Texas-San Antonio.

Henderson got his first NFL break in 2017 as the Chargers’ defensive line coach, where he served for the next two seasons. He’s now a free agent looking for his next job, and it appears Taylor will challenge his former team to add Henderson to the Bengals staff.
