What if the Jaguars draft... an offensive tackle?

The 2018 NFL season is nearing an end. With the Super Bowl just days away the Jacksonville Jaguars are in the same position they have been for much of the past decade at this time — deciding who they should take at the top of the first round.

Dan Kadar of MockingTheDraft.com has done a couple of mock drafts for us and a few weeks ago, he had us taking Ole Miss offensive tackle Greg Little with the seventh overall pick. Has the Senior Bowl changed his mind? What about Kyler Murray declaring for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Nope.

In his latest mock draft, Kadar still has us going with an offensive tackle, but this time he’s from Alabama and not Mississippi.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama

Neither Drew Lock nor Daniel Jones had exceptional Senior Bowl weeks. Lock was the better of the two, but he didn’t have the type of week that guaranteed a spot this high. The Jaguars, instead, could gamble on Eagles quarterback Nick Foles. He may be too expensive to keep in Philadelphia and will have several suitors this offseason.

Williams could be brought in to help protect Foles, and hopefully help kickstart Jacksonville’s running game.

Kadar is right in his assessment of the Senior Bowl quarterbacks. None of them showed enough last week to change my mind that this is a two-quarterback draft in Dwayne Haskins and Kyler Murray — and Haskins will be the highest drafted of the two.

But to pass on Murray after the New York Giants take Haskins would be a mistake, in my opinion.

Kadar is predicting what the Jaguars are likely to do, not what they should do, and I agree that the Jacksonville front office will probably be dissuaded from drafting a 5-foot-10 quarterback in Murray. But that doesn’t make it any less a bad move.

What do you think? If Haskins is gone, would you beef up the offensive line or would you go out and get Murray? Let us know in the comments below!
