Contract numbers for Bills RB Frank Gore

The unsurprising details of the 35-year-old’s one-year deal

After the reported signing of free agent running back Frank Gore to a one-year, $2 million contract, ESPN’s Mike Rodak has provided the rather unsurprising contract details.

The contract breaks down to a $500,000 signing bonus, $250,000 workout bonus, and $1.25 million in non-guaranteed salary.

Gore’s salary-cap hit for 2019 is $2 million.

The potential dead money if released is $500,000, or $750,000 if released after the workout bonus is earned.

As with all vested veteran players, Gore’s $1.25 million salary becomes fully guaranteed if he remains on the 53-man roster come Week 1 of the regular season.

The average value of the contract pays Gore as the 31st-highest running back in the NFL and third on the Bills behind LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory. It’s a bit higher than the contract he signed in Miami last year, where he earned just $1.1 million.

2019

Signing bonus: $500,000
Workout bonus: $250,000
Salary: $1.25 million

Cap hit: $2 million
Dead cap: $500,000 now ($750,000 after workout bonus is earned)
