Former Los Angeles Rams guard Rodger Saffold is moving on from the Rams and is expected to sign a four-year $44 million free agent contract with the Tennessee Titans, per the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

If Raider Nation has a good memory, this is the same Saffold that signed with Oakland on the first day of free agency in 2014 when Reggie McKenzie was in charge before a failed physical nixed the deal and going back to the Rams.
But it should come as no shock that the Raiders weren’t in the market for Saffold. A price-tag over $10 million per year is far too much if the team that just traded away Kelechi Osmele at the same price, signed tackle Trent Brown to a record deal, and still plans to pursue Le’Veon Bell in addition to others.
With the trade of Osemele, Oakland is definitely in the market for a new guard to pair with Gabe Jackson. And with Saffold now gone, the next best option at the guard position appears to be Mike Iupati if the Raiders want to fill their need at guard before the draft.
