Josh Allen predicted to make 2019 NFL All-Rookie team

The Jacksonville Jaguars got lucky in the 2019 NFL Draft. There’s nothing wrong with that — sometimes the best and smartest course of action is to let other teams make bad decisions or reach for a need over a better player.

But make no mistake they got lucky in linebacker and pass rusher Josh Allen falling to them at No. 7 overall.

So much so that NFL.com’s Chad Reuter thinks Allen will be a standout rookie, giving him a spot on his 2019 All-Rookie team predictions.

Linebacker: Josh Allen, Jacksonville Jaguars (Round 1, No. 7). Allen is not just an effective outside rusher — he’s a complete player who solidifies the second level of Jacksonville’s defense. Watch out if he picks up more pass-rush moves.

The other two linebackers on this list? Devin Bush and Devin White.

A (somewhat) surprising omission is second round pick Jawaan Taylor. The players who made it above him are Kaleb McGary, who got drafted by the Atlanta Falcons at the bottom of the first round, and Greg Little, who got drafted by the Carolina Panthers just a few spots after Taylor.

Which is fair, honestly — I think Taylor’s rookie performance will be hindered a bit by the fact that the right guard next to him is in a bit of flux. He’ll be good, but those offensive lines have better situations at right guard next to their rookie right tackles.

What do you think? Should Taylor have been given the nod as well? Or should Allen have been the true standalone on these All-Rookie team predictions? Let us know in the comments below!
