As the 2019 NFL Draft picks begin to shine, the haunting of Steve Keim's former first round picks continues.

The Arizona Cardinals announced after training camp practice today that they have released former first round pick Robert Nkemdiche.

From the team:

"The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has released defensive linemanROBERT NKEMDICHE."

"Selected by the Cardinals in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Nkemdiche appeared in 27 games in three seasons with the Cardinals."

That's it, that's all the team has to say about the 2016 first round pick.

The reason, there's not much to say about Nkemdiche from an on the field standpoint.

The 24-year old Nkemdiche started only six games in his career, playing in 27.

He registered 4.5 sacks, 44 tackles and 10 tackles for loss in his career.

The biggest highlight of his career was either his fumble recovery touchdown against the New York Giants or his 2.5 sack game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

As rough as it has been for Nkemdiche, it's been just as rough for Steve Keim when it comes to first round picks.

Let's hope D.J. Humphries can stay healthy, Haason Reddick comes back to start the season healthy and that Kyler Murray is the franchise saver the Cardinals need him to be.
