Buccaneers get one live preseason game on NFL Network

Trip to Pittsburgh will air on August 9th at 7:30 PM ET

NFL Network will air every game for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and each of the other franchises during the preseason. However, only thirteen of them will be aired live, and the Bucs will be featured in one of those.

Tampa Bay’s road trip to Pittsburgh for their first live action of the 2019 preseason will land on the network for Bucs fans to see.

Joining the Bucs and Steelers during Week 1’s slate of games will be the Dallas Cowboys on the road to face the San Francisco 49ers on August 10th. Kicking off Week 1 will be the New York Jets and New York Giants playing in New Jersey while the Arizona Cardinals also play host to the Los Angeles Chargers on August 8th.

It’ll be our first glimpse at what this new look team will have to offer under new head coach Bruce Arians, but if present practice sticks to history it won’t last long.

Likely, the eyes will mostly be on a very young secondary making their competitive debut against a Steelers offense looking to prove they’re still an elite unit in spite of losing both Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown.

It’s hard to build-up or build upon hype during the first game of the pre-season, but eyes will certainly be peeled looking for new wrinkles to what the Buccaneers do on the field.

Some of the other storylines to get ready for in this match-up include the emergence of Chris Godwin as a true second-receiver with DeSean Jackson traded in the off-season, Diontae Johnson’s debut for the Steelers who drafted the Toledo wide receiver just before Bruce Arians had reportedly targeted the speed receiver, and comparisons between the two Devins as White takes the field for the Bucs and Devin Bush steps on the field for the first time with the Steelers.

No matter what, Tampa Bay Buccaneers football will be back for the first time in 2019, and that’s good news all around.
