Gurley is now the fifth member of the team to make the 2019 list:
- S Eric Weddle: ranked #100
- LT Andrew Whitworth: ranked #91
- WR Robert Woods: ranked #76
- QB Jared Goff: ranked #32
Prior to coming in at #5, Gurley was ranked 22nd in 2016, unranked in 2017, and sixth in 2018:
The 2018 season lead to a high degree of success for Gurley as he amassed 1,831 yards from scrimmage (1,251 rushing, 580 receiving), as well as a total of 21 touchdowns (17 rushing, four receiving). His season ended on a rough note as injury limited his effectiveness, though it was clear he was enjoying the most success he’s ever had in the NFL under Head Coach Sean McVay.
Gurley’s 2019/2020 season will be one of a different dynamic as the Rams have already invested in re-signing Malcolm Brown, and drafting Darrell Henderson in the third-round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Both of these additions were executed for a reason, and that’s because of the workload of Gurley being scaled back in hopes of an extended career (who knows) and healthier season/playoff run.
Regardless of future plans, Gurley had a tremendous 2018 season, and has rightfully earned his spot on the NFL Top 100.
