Bengals at Chiefs in NFL Preseason Week 1

NFL: Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

All stories and updates related to the Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs preseason game.

It is a new era, a new day, or whatever you feel like calling it. We finally will have actual football against another tam for the first time in Zac Taylor’s tenure as head coach!

The Bengals will be headed to Kansas City for a Saturday night matchup in Arrowhead Stadium. This is both team’s opening game of the preseason.

The last time these two teams met, it really wasn’t pretty. The Bengals got their first real beating of the season to the point where the Bengals actually pulled a lot of their starters late. The game ended 45-10, but it honestly didn’t even feel that close.

The last time these teams met in the preseason was 2017. That game was mostly memorable because it resulted in a hit that earned former-Bengals’ linebacker Vontaze Burfict a suspension that was hotly debated by the NFL.

Things are different now, and the Bengals still technically have the regular season advantage against the Chiefs 15-14. Cincinnati should get a quick test over the first few drives as to how close they are to one of the most talented and well coached teams in the NFL, though.

Don’t expect to see the starters for any extended period of time. It is the first week of the preseason, and coaches don’t want to wear down their starters or put them in harms way for a meaningless game. This is a game for backups and fringe roster players to show they belong as Cincinnati embarks on their newest journey.

Who Dey!
