Will Rico Gathers have a chance on Cleveland’s roster?
The Cleveland Browns have turned into one of the hottest destinations in the National Football League for free agents and trade acquisitions, and that trend continued on Sunday when they signed someone who Cowboys fans know quite well - Rico Gathers.

The Cowboys decided to part ways with Gathers early last week after three years of hopeful thinking more than anything. Gathers saw time on the 53-man roster, and 46-man gameday roster as well, last season, but he was never able to properly realize the ambitions that many had for him in the blue and silver.
Gathers has been outspoken in the media about his off-the-field interests and is already suspended for the first game of the 2019 season. That didn’t stop the Browns from bringing him in, perhaps they feel like he can be a welcome addition to an offense that many expect to be quite good this season.
This makes two members of the 2016 Cowboys draft class that have now become Browns at one point in their careers. Late during the 2016 season the Cowboys waived running back Darius Jackson and he was claimed by Cleveland. Incidentally, through the path that professional football can often offer, Jackson has ended up back with the Cowboys over the last year and change.
All the best to Rico Gathers. May he find success wherever he goes, apparently Cleveland!
