Adrian Peterson to me on Trent Williams' ongoing absence: "Since Day 1 of camp you notice his absence is impacting us tremendously. You go from not having to worry about the blind-side at all, to having to chip on that side, add a TE there which changes what you do [Cont.]"
— ig: josinaanderson (@JosinaAnderson) August 13, 2019
[Peterson on Trent Cont.] I think it it's making Dwayne Haskins have to think more, not process things as calmly. Matter of fact, I think it's impacting all of our QBs. Guys r coming off the edge in prax right there on the QB & the RB. It's been a struggle." [Cont]
— ig: josinaanderson (@JosinaAnderson) August 13, 2019
When I asked Adrian Peterson if Trent Williams' mind can be changed once it's made up about his future with the #Skins, he said, "no." Adding, "He's the best & most athletic LT in the game, and I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back, & I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't."
— ig: josinaanderson (@JosinaAnderson) August 13, 2019
If you think Trent’s absence isn’t a distraction internally, you’d be wrong. #redskins https://t.co/CJQARYR2AO

The Redskins declared no intention of trading Trent Williams, but that doesn't mean other teams aren't trying...https://t.co/KgFj9yFf3d
— NBC Sports Redskins (@NBCSRedskins) August 13, 2019
Why would a team trade a first-rounder to Redskins for a 31-year-old tackle who hasn't played 16 games since 2013 and wants an extended deal? Team can just use that first next spring for a 22-year old. Redskins would have to take a two and maybe a four.
— Rick Snider (@Snide_Remarks) August 13, 2019
Interesting how the Trent Williams trade/not trade news is heating up. Unless someone comes along with an offer the Redskins can't refuse, this goes on awhile. Redskins can be stubborn here and wait.
— Rick Snider (@Snide_Remarks) August 13, 2019
And I should stress: the late August is when it would start to get more serious. As we’ve seen with trades here could happen at anytime. What if someone gave great offer today? Well... but if none? Wait. If bad end of August? Wait. If only a pick could do later as well

Washington has told multiple teams this summer it is not trading 7-time Pro Bowl OT Trent Williams, per sources. Williams has held out of camp, but Washington hasn’t flinched. Teams repeatedly have called about Williams, teams have inquired, and so far, teams have been rebuffed.

Jason has been out in front, at times on an island, throughout this saga. To this point he's been right every step of the way. https://t.co/mIxrQvH5Cm
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) August 13, 2019
Williams presence is a franchise changer similar to Mack last off-season. Even with him being 31, in a 2-3 year window you’re getting a rare OL you can build an offense around. https://t.co/88kXYGP7fH
— Brandon Thorn (@BrandonThornNFL) August 13, 2019
#Redskins shouldn’t let him go. They should be doing everything they can to bring him back. Sounds like they aren’t letting him go, but are they doing what it takes to get him back? https://t.co/87fmP4Nxz6
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) August 13, 2019
Do you think Trent Williams will play for the #Redskins again?
— George Carmi (@Gcarmi21) August 13, 2019
Keenum just threw a deep ball to Doctson; 50-50 ball he outjumped Norman to grab.
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 13, 2019
If I’m the #Redskins, I’m willing to trade #TrentWilliams & a third-round pick for Jadeveon Clowney. #Skins could turn ugly Trent holdout into super front six (given they’re in nickel so often) of Clowney, Kerrigan, Sweat, Allen, Payne & Ioannidis. https://t.co/v34ql7ZxvS
— Al Galdi (@AlGaldi) August 13, 2019
Clowney is good, but he wants a big contract. Skins already have plenty of money/picks invested in that front and have to remember about paying Allen/Payne in the coming years too. Only way it works is if they trade Kerrigan too, which I can’t see them doing https://t.co/bR6NrtGulQ
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) August 13, 2019
PSA Jadeveon Clowney is really good nobody is saying he’s not! I’m just not trading Trent for him then having to give Clowney a 6 yr 120 million dollar contract with 70m GTD...... just not worth it to me, again I know he’s good

Here are the questions for me in this Trent saga:
— Disco (@discoque5) August 13, 2019
1. Did he tell the team of his issues BEFORE or AFTER the draft?
2. Did the team tell him to get a 2nd opinion and did he listen?
3. Has Snyder reached out?
4. Would fix it, if it can, then it's really about #Redskins #HTTR
JP Finlay appeared on the Grant and Danny show this afternoon. He now believes Trent Williams will be traded. A stance he adamantly opposed before. His rationale was captured by @ChrisLingebach here. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/Vwvf9A1IuY

Adrian Peterson on trying to convince Trent Williams to return: "I shot my shot. I know how Trent is, so I just left it alone. After we talked that first time about it, I wasn't going to be the guy that was going to pester him or anything like that."

— John Keim (@john_keim) August 13, 2019
I mean...I have no idea how they are going to do this but why do I fear the #Redskins will still name McCoy the starting QB & think he will stay healthy. Or be healthy. https://t.co/0YCwgUTDy1

Seen some #Redskins fans suggesting trading Trent Williams for Jadeveon Clowney. I dunno if that makes a ton of sense for the Skins. They already have Kerrigan locked in on one side and just spent a first rounder (plus a 2nd next year as part of the trade) on Montez Sweat.

Hiking Runyon tonight, I saw a teenager on a bench wearing a Clerks hat watching a video on his phone. Trying to surprise him, I said “I like your hat.” He said “Thanks,” without ever glancing up.
