Cowboys lose at home to Packers team that the Eagles beat in Green Bay

Hate to see it!

The Dallas Cowboys were defeated at home by the Green Bay Packers on Sunday by a final score of 34 to 24.

The Philadelphia Eagles can’t relate. They beat this same Packers team ON THE ROAD at Lambeau Field in a Week 4 Thursday Night Football game.

Let’s take a look at two very different quarterback stat lines, shall we?

Carson Wentz against the Packers: 16/27, 160 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, 113.2 passer rating.

Dak Prescott against the Packers: 27/44, 463 yards, 2 TD, 3 INT, 83.8 passer rating.

Please note that Prescott’s line doesn’t include a sure pick dropped by Kevin King and another wiped off the board with a penalty away from the ball. Prescott was fortunate to not have logged FIVE interceptions against the Packers.

Now also seems like a good time to take a look at some updated NFC East standings.

As you can see, the Cowboys and Eagles are now both 3-2. Dallas technically still holds first place since they’re 2-0 in division games while Philly is only 1-0.

How the Cowboys got to 3-2 obviously differs from how the Eagles arrived at this point. Dallas was 3-0 and getting hyped up as some unstoppable juggernaut despite merely beating up on bad teams. They’ve since lost two straight games to quality opponents. The Eagles, meanwhile, bounced back from a 1-2 start by winning their last two games.

The Eagles and Cowboys will face off for the first time this season 14 days from now in Week 7. Prior to that, Week 6 will see the Eagles will play in Minnesota against the Vikings while the Cowboys take on the winless Jets in New Jersey. Sam Darnold might be back for that matchup, if it even matters.

Eagles versus Cowboys is always a big one and this year will be no different. Even if the Eagles drop to 3-3 and the Cowboys move to 4-2 next weekend, the Week 7 game between these two teams will be for first place in the NFC East.

Perfect opportunity for the Eagles to assert themselves as the best team in the division.
