Danielle Hunter tied a significant NFL record on Sunday

And he can break it in the next three weeks

Danielle Hunter has been terrorizing opposing quarterbacks for as long as he’s been in the National Football League. On Sunday, in the Minnesota Vikings’ 28-10 victory over the New York Giants, he tied a pretty significant NFL record. . .and he has three weeks to claim it all for himself.

With his two sacks of Daniel Jones on Sunday, Hunter ran his career sack total to 45. That ties him for the most sacks in National Football League history before the age of 25, according to Arif Hasan of The Athletic. He currently shares the record with Robert Quinn.

Hunter won’t reach the age of 25 until 29 October, which means he’s got three games to collect at least another half-sack. . .or, ideally, many more than that. . .to claim the record all for himself.

Hunter, who was the youngest player in the National Football League in his rookie year of 2015, has been a part of the Vikings’ defense for five seasons now. It’s amazing to think that, even with the way he’s been dominating thus far, that he still might not be at his peak. It’s probably a good thing that the Vikings locked him into a long-term extension when they did. . .I can’t fathom how much he’d be able to make on the open market if they hadn’t.

What do you think, folks? Can #99 pick up at least half a quarterback sack at some point in the next three weeks?
