I guess you could say it was love at first sight for Jon Gruden when he laid eyes on fullback, Alec Ingold at last years Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Who can forget the monster block Ingold put on now Indianapolis Colts linebacker, Bobby Okereke right in front of his future coach.
Since that moment his love for his now starting linebacker has only grown.
“You watch the first touchdown,” said Gruden of Ingold. “He’s knocking a guy down off his feet. On the goal-line play at the end of the game, he leaves his feet, launches and makes a great play. We’ve asked him to run the ball on short yardage, fourth and one in Indy, third and one the other night, he’s gotten the first down, he’s playing special teams. I love that guy. I don’t want him to hear me say that, but I really deep down like that guy a lot. He’s what the position is all about.”
Along with the offensive line and tight ends, Ingold has played an integral role in the success of the run game, helping pave the way for Josh Jacobs who ranks sixth in the league with 430 yards.
In only five games Ingold has put together quite a nice reel of blocks. In fact I’ve put together a collection of a few of my favorites.

It’s plays like these that not only has the coach but the entire fan base falling head over heels for their new fullback.
