You probably sensed from the moment that the Los Angeles Rams rid themselves of cornerback Marcus Peters that they were suddenly in the “trade for Jalen Ramsey” sweepstakes.
Well your senses were right, and the former Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback is on his way to Los Angeles.
Ramsey had requested a trade earlier this season and hadn’t played over the past couple of games due to a supposed back injury, but now his back will be turned to Jacksonville as he crosses over to the NFC.
What’s the cost? A lot. The Rams are giving up two first-round picks (as the Jaguars had reportedly wanted) as part of this deal, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
It’s happening: Former Jaguars’ CB Jalen Ramsey is being traded to the LA Rams for two first-round picks in 2020 and 2021, and a fourth-round pick in 2021, source tells ESPN.

So the Rams secondary will look completely different starting (presumably) this weekend against the Atlanta Falcons. Peters is with the Baltimore Ravens, Aqib Talib is on injured reserve, and now they’ve acquired one of the league’s best cornerbacks while he’s towards the end of his rookie contract.
The defending NFC champions aren’t quite in desperation mode, but they’re close to it. They also traded a 2021 fourth-rounder for Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Austin Corbett, as they look to fix their offensive line struggles. After a 3-0 start, they’ve crashed to 3-3 and are nearer to the bottom of the NFC West than the top of it.
