- Bernie Parrish, All-Pro Cornerback Who Took on the N.F.L., Dies at 83 (New York Times) - Bernie Parrish, an All-Pro defensive back for the Cleveland Browns in the 1960s who in retirement tried to organize N.F.L. players into a Teamsters-backed union and wrote a book critical of the league, died on Wednesday at his home in Springfield, Mo. He was 83.
- Browns know upset bid relies on getting to Tom Brady (ohio.com) - TJ Carrie doesn’t remember the NFL without Tom Brady, and most of the cornerback’s Browns teammates can relate. For the Browns (2-4) to come off their Week 7 bye and upset the Patriots (7-0), they’ll likely need to play their best game of the year against the quarterback many consider the greatest of all time.

Brees has been out since Sept. 15, when he suffered a torn ligament in the thumb on his passing hand as he made contact with the outstretched hand of Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald.
- Jets release Kelechi Osemele, agent vows to fight for balance of his contract (NY Daily News) - The bizarre saga surrounding Jets offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele took another turn Saturday as Gang Green released him a day after the veteran underwent a shoulder surgery the team did not want him to have. - Buccaneers to activate Jason Pierre-Paul off non-football injury list five months after neck fracture (CBS Sports) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense will be getting an unexpected lift this week. The Bucs will activate Jason Pierre-Paul from the non-football injury list, and according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Pierre-Paul is expected to play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
