The undefeated Chiefs play host to the Colts on Sunday Night Football.
The Detroit Lions got to experience the Mahomes show last week, and were nearly able to upset one of the NFL’s premier teams. Tonight, another blue-clad team will take aim at toppling that dynamic offense. The Indianapolis Colts travel to Arrowhead to battle the Kansas City Chiefs in what should be an exciting edition of Sunday Night Football.
The Colts are 2-2 in the post-Luck era, stuck in a logjam that in the AFC South. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett has performed admirably as Andrew Luck’s replacement, throwing 10 touchdowns to just 2 interceptions. They also boast a decent run game with Marlon Mack, though he and T.Y. Hilton are both banged up entering tonight’s match. Their defense is not much healthier, with Malik Hooker, Clayton Gathers, Darius Leonard, and Tyquan Lewis all ruled out. They will have a tough task ahead of them trying to stop Patrick Mahomes.
The Lions learned how deadly Mahomes can be, leading his team to a late-game comeback. Star receiver Tyreek Hill remains out, but the Chiefs have made due with Sammy Watkins, Demarcus Robinson, Mecole Hardman, and, of course, Travis Kelce. They will also get Damien Williams back, who will join LeSean McCoy and Darrel Williams in the backfield. The Chiefs defense, however, remains a huge question mark, and the Colts will look to exploit this in what could be a shootout.
The Lions are on the bye, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy some Sunday Night Football.
