The Denver Broncos have a two score lead heading into the fourth quarter against the Oakland Raiders.
The Denver Broncos defense picked up where they left off giving up a 37-yard run on the very first play by the Oakland Raiders offense. Derek Carr mishandled the snap on the next play that resulted in a two yard loss.
Von Miller was converging on Carr, but he got the pass off to his running back who was stuffed for no gain. On third and 12, Justin Hollins exploded off the edge and hit Carr’s arm as he threw to end the drive. That would mark the first punt by the Oakland Raiders in the game.

Phillip Lindsay gained seven yards on first down that put him a mere 17 yards from 1,000 on the season. Noah Fant would commit his second holding penalty in the game on the next play to set Denver back.
On second and 11 from their own 8 yard line, Lock would be forced to throw it away. Lock on the next play, connected with Troy Fumagalli for a nice gain that came up two yards short of the first down marker.
The Raiders got a nice gain on first down for four yards and another four on a short pass, but on third and two they went deep to Darren Waller who was overthrown to bring out the punt unit.
Lock looked a bit antsy to start the next drive down inside their own 10 yard line. He looked antsy on the last drive pinned deep as well. After overthrowing Lindsay on first down, he looked more poised on second down and fired a pass over the middle to DaeSean Hamilton for nice gain out to the 27-yard line for a 17-yard gain.

Some rhythm got going as Lock hit Courtland Sutton over the middle for a 20 yard gain to get Denver into Oakland territory at the 49 yard line.

Jake Rodgers bad day continued into the second half after blocking a guy in the back on the next play where Phillip Lindsay had fought hard for a seven yard gain. That was negated.
On first and 20, Lock his Devontae Booker on a pass outside for eight yards on that play. Lock went deep to Sutton who was speared hard by the safety for a defenseless receiver penalty. After conferring, the officials confirmed it was a helmet-to-helmet hit for a 15-yard penalty and a first down.
After a one yard run by Lindsay, Lock found Noah Fant who got within a yard of the first down marker, but for some reason he ran backwards and was tackled for just a four yard gain. On third and five, Lock overthrew Hamilton to end the drive.
A Brandon McManus 49-yard field goal put Denver up 13-3 with four and a half minutes remaining in the third quarter.
From inside their own 10 yard line, the Raiders tried to get things going again. They wouldn’t get anything going and would have to punt it away from their own end zone.

Hamilton continued to make the plays on a deep out for a first down into Raiders territory. Lock then fired a bullet to Tim Patrick for another first down to the Raiders 30 yard line. On first down, Lindsay gained four yards which put him just seven yards from the 1,000 yard mark.
The third quarter would end with another field goal attempt to begin the fourth quarter.
