Andy Dalton gets a heartfelt sendoff.
The Bengals end the season right. They take down the Browns leaving them with the distinction of being Cincinnati’s second win of the year.
We as fans didn’t have much to cheer about all season, but we saw a couple of young players reach important milestones, a young player seize an opportunity and Andy Dalton get sent off in what will probably be his last game in Cincinnati.
Joe Mixon’s big day
Mixon ended up crossing a few key milestones on the day. First was getting his second straight 1,000 yard rushing season out of the way, which he did in style. Then he proceeded to gash the Browns the rest of the day on his way to a new career-high in rushing for a game. He also had a pretty heartwarming moment as well as one to give fans an even bigger smile after a win.

Darius Phillips heard opportunity knocking
Phillips was given a chance to start in place of WIlliam Jackson after finishing off the game against the Dolphins last week. He did give up a few big plays, but he also made several big plays in the form of turnovers.
He played well for a young player getting a chance to matchup with some of the best wide receivers in the AFC North, and overall he held his own. He was recognized by Zac Taylor after the game as well.

— Rebecca Toback (@Rebecca_Toback) December 29, 2019
This team has sooooo badly lacked CB interceptions the last two years, that nose for the ball alone should put Phillips as a key piece of their defensive plans going forward.

Tyler Boyd earns his second 1,000 yard receiving season
Boyd has been an absolute pro this entire season. He is one of the big reasons this team never really bellied up despite their record. For him to get his second straight 1,000 yard receiving season with opposing defenses focusing on him without A.J. Green. He has proven he can be a cornerstone for this offense after getting an extension this past offseason.
Boyd and Mixon become only the second duo in Bengals history to go for 1,000 rush and 1,000 receiving in back-to-back years since Chad and Rudi Johnson did it three in a row from 2004-06.

Dalton goes out in style
What is there to say? This very well could’ve been Dalton’s last game as a Bengal. Cincinnati will likely spend the first overall pick on Joe Burrow to properly lead this team into a new era.
We still have watched Dalton grow as an NFL quarterback since the team drafted him in 2011, and he has done so much for this area, and he helped make the Bengals relevant for a pretty good stretch with five playoff appearances.
It certainly felt like a finale game with the way fans reacted, and Dalton got the sendoff by fans that he deserved.
