A new RB!
The Redskins have reportedly signed former Detroit Lions RB J.D. McKissic to a 2-year deal. This seals the fate of Chris Thompson who was always expected to leave in free agency this year. McKissic was a restricted free agent, but the Lions chose not to tender him.
He entered the league as an undrafted free agent signing out of Arkansas State in 2016. He was with the Atlanta Falcons for preseason, but didn't survive final cuts. He was picked up by the Seattle Seahawks, and spent 3 years there. He had his most productive season last year with the Lions. McKissic started 3 games and had 38 rushes for 205 yards. He also had 34 receptions for 233 yards and a touchdown.
Redskins depth and pass-catcher. The Chris Thompson role, basically. https://t.co/ooVuOmUjf1

FWIW: I think we all knew RB Chris Thompson would be elsewhere this season. He knew. Signing McKissic seals it (tho decision was made a while ago). Skins loved the guy. Durability became the issue. Was fun to watch. Improved every year. Legit pro.
