With the eighth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft the Arizona Cardinals will take…
That’s what we are all waiting to find out.
One name we have not heard a ton about is Georgia offensive tackle Andrew Thomas.
Thomas is really interesting because he normally would be the consensus top offensive tackle prospect just based on pedigree.
He started three years in his three years at Georgia. He has spent successful time on the right side and the left side as a tackle.
The issue is he isn’t pretty on tape in pass protection. He’s a consistent winner in pass pro and he’s great in the run game.
His high end comp is ironic, because it’s another tackle who in the NFL was always overlooked.
D’Brickashaw Ferguson was a three-time Pro Bowl tackle who all he did was start 160 consecutive games for the New York Jets. He was never an All Pro, but he was an anchor of an offensive line that went to two AFC Championship games.
That is the type of prospect that Thomas profiles out too.
The question becomes, will he even be on the board at eight?
