Cam Akers is 20-1 to win ORY
or a team that didn’t pick until No. 52 in the NFL draft, the Rams are getting some notice by the awards oddsmakers.
Our friends at DraftKings have given odds to three why Rams players for Rookie of the Year honors.
Let’s check it out:
Cam Akers, 20-1:
The Florida State running back was taken No. 52 and should be the Rams’ top running back option. His relatively low odds of winning the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award suggest DraftKings expect big things from him this fall. There are only 10 players with lower odds (having a better chance to win) and he is tied 20-1 with Eagles’ receiver Jalen Reagor, who was taken with the No. 21 overall pick.
Terrell Lewis, 70-1:
The Rams took the Alabama edge rusher in the third round at No. 83. He is one of my favorites picks in the draft and has big ability. Injuries kept Lewis down in the draft but if he can stay healthy, the Rams will use him a lot right away. At 70-1, why not?
Brycen Hopkins, 150-1:
I’m surprised the Purdue tight end was given odds over Florida receiver Van Jefferson. Hopkins is a super long shot in my opinion. Tight ends often struggle as rookies and the Rams likely won’t ask too much of Hopkins as a rookie. Hence, the huge odds.
