As we get into the end of the 2020 NFL Draft process we’ll try and finish up looking at all the prospects the Arizona Cardinals have had some kind of contact with.
We’ve looked at a number of the prospects already and we’ll put them all in one place next Sunday, but let’s get through a couple of more today, starting with a look at one of the best defensive tackle prospects in the draft.
Ross Blacklock is a bit undersized at 6-3 290lbs, but his comparisons should be something that gets Cardinals fans salivating.
Blacklock’s high end comparison is similar to former Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowler Darnell Dockett. I want people to remember high end comparisons are if everything go right, player gets picked to the right team, with the right defensive scheme and doesn’t have any off field or injury issues. So, comparing a player to Dockett is lofty but that’s a best case scenario type of career.
Low end comparison is Devon Still, who was a nice player before things out of his control really derailed his career. However, he was never a starter or high end type of player.
That’s what makes Blacklock so intriguing for the Cardinals. He’s a one-gap guy with up field and disruption potential. The problem becomes he looks poised to go in the second round. We’ll see where he ends up come draft day.
