Ron Rivera today on Alex Smith's "very big step" by participating in 11-on-11 drills (shells, no contact). pic.twitter.com/pVEh47MF2l

3 reps... non-contact... in shells. But still....keep perspective here: the dude has reached this point. If u had placed $ on that, u can now retire.... Washington's Smith takes part in full-team work https://t.co/DHxbl82bxa

J.D. McKissic says when he & Antonio Gibson are both in the game, it will "put a lot of stress on defenses."

If they go nickel, they can run it at 'em and obviously multiple alignments. @WSHFootballSI

Yeah McCaffrey type. Rivera said this morning we haven’t seen their whole plan for him of course. Think we knew that. Natural. I do expect him to be used all over. Such a potential weapon when it clicks for him. Think will be fun to watch how he’s used and paired with other RBs. https://t.co/GA2dDJSGaS

Moreland said he is starting to see the game more slowly in his second year. That backs up what Landon Collins said about Moreland this offseason. Collins also said he has more confidence knowing that the rest of the secondary has his back.

Jimmy Moreland: "I started off fast in training camp last year, but I didn't keep that up."

"Potential ain't nothing unless you know what to do with it." - Jimmy Moreland. Put that on a shirt

Rivera says we’ll see a lot Sunday in practice. Says will help them start to make some decisions. Hard without preseason games.

Ron Rivera said rookie WR Antonio Gandy-Golden suffered an undisclosed injury in Friday's practice, but that it's "nothing serious."

Good. Solid. Always been a fan of his. Smart. Studies. https://t.co/iPjjb8F0zz

Clarity on a few things - Smith is on a schedule for steady progression. I think this is just part of that. But perhaps most importantly- to me anyway - Dwayne Haskins is still absolutely the starting QB
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) August 29, 2020
Some takeaways from Rivera:
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) August 28, 2020
- Thinks Joshua Garnett could be better fit in this scheme (JG took first-team reps at LG)
- Sees young guys starting to really get culture
- Really pleased with Troy Apke, starting to pick up on his coaching and fixing mistakes (angles)
I'm not sure exactly what it means but I'd suggest WFT isnt locked in on Wes Martin at left guard. He could still prove to be the best option, but not certain. Im curious if Josh Garnett gets a real shot too

too early to say

I'm not. NFL protocol requires the teams provide updates to media on training camp practices theyre unable to attend. Credit to WFT PR team for good info. https://t.co/C64OtiFzZ6

Would need to be tested every single day (even if no practice that day). Even then would only have room for 1-2 of us. Have 80 players, then coaches and have 20-30 lockers set up inside to accommodate distancing. No way to do in main facility. https://t.co/B01yqzDu9O
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 29, 2020
He’s a RB. Period. Have said since the draft. He will run routes from WR in an RB role; so will McKissic. In practice we only see Gibson with RBs. But he does have a lot to learn b/c of this versatility. Has sat in on WR meetings for things that pertain to his role. But... RB. https://t.co/mILzjcqZHq
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 29, 2020
And I put just in quotes to emphasize his role and how he’s viewed. Clearly it’s an important role. I like what he offers.

RB J.D. McKissic, a former Arkansas State Red Wolf, on the fan movement in Washington to rename the team Redwolves:
— Sam Fortier (@Sam4TR) August 29, 2020
“It doesn’t matter what name they give us. ... If we change the team name to Washington Redwolves, I have no problem with that.”
A defining character trait for a player on the #RedWolves would have to be Killer instinct. However the coaches define it ....but it’s foundational to our spirit. Another character trait is pack mentality. There are others......:. @Fsmoot21SeanT @bentleyhaskins @washfootbaII

I really like this Jersey and Pants combo with this Helmet(I'd prob remove the stripes) - OR the same color Helmet with the GOLD numbers on the side to match Jersey and Pants.

The #Seahawks have signed WR Paul Richardson, sources say. He's back in Seattle.

Would love to see Dan Snyder, now deemed by Boz "the most disgraceful embarrassment in Washington sports history," in a match race vs. George Preston Marshall, who didn't sign a black player until 15 years after Jackie Robinson (and only because the government forced his hand).
