Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets
Good morning, Gang Green Nation! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. After a weekend full of surprises, Jets’ GM Joe Douglas continued to do so yesterday, as he released WR Quincy Enunwa, as well as waiving RB Trenton Cannon, G Ben Braden, and LB Wyatt Ray. The release of Enunwa is most surprising considering the guarantees laden in his contract. The release presents no cap savings, signifying that Joe Douglas is looking towards the future immediately, instead of the immediate future. This also shows that Douglas is serious about bringing in his own guys, moving on from mistakes from previous GMs, and placing his stamp on the team in a season full of question marks. In my opinion this is the best time for him to do so as expectations for both the league (due to Covid-19) and the Jets are low this year. While some have speculated that Douglas could be ‘punting away the season’, it’s hard not to agree with the moves he’s made thus far. He was given a pretty terrible hand for a new GM and hopefully the moves he makes going past this season will help put the Jets in a place to succeed going forward - at least, one must hope. With that, here are your links to the team to start your morning.
