NFL fans largely expect players to keep up with touchdown celebrations
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged-in 49ers fans, and fans across the country. Sign up here to join Reacts.
This upcoming season will be full of unknowns and questions. We know there will be a start to the regular season, but nobody is sure how long it will last. I’ll be curious to see how home-field advantage is this season without any crowd noise. The San Francisco 49ers were a terror at home, especially defensively on third downs. It doesn’t hurt to have 11 good players on the field, but the crowd noise certainly played a factor.
Speaking of, fans are hoping their favorite teams keep them involved this season. We asked what gameday element they most want to continue in 2020, and nearly 40% of fans said they’d like to still see giveaways:
Nothing like promoting the Kiss Cam during COVID.
The survey also showed huge support behind the continuance of another fan-favorite – touchdown celebrations.
Two-thirds of fans said they expect full touchdown celebrations this season, even if fans aren’t in attendance.
Now all I want is Kendrick Bourne to do a celebration that mocks the lack of fans in the crowd. Let’s say he runs along the back of the end zone, pretending to high-five everyone. He’s creative; he could do better than that.
