Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...
10 NFL rookies who could surprise in 2020 - PFF
WR JOHN HIGHTOWER, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES. Philadelphia’s receiving unit was one of the biggest disappointments of the 2019 season. They have high hopes again this year, though, with a healthy Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson, the hopeful development of JJ Arcega-Whiteside and the addition of first-round receiver Jalen Reagor. However, if recent reports out of Eagles training camp are anything to go by, former Boise State wideout John Hightower, the team’s fifth-round selection from the 2020 draft, could very well be in the mix for a chunk of targets this year. He’s not going to win many contested balls downfield, but Hightower’s sheer speed means that he can avoid those altogether on go-routes. He earned the 16th-best deep-receiving grade in college football over his final two years at Boise State while his nine deep touchdowns with at least a step of separation in that span tied for the second-most. He’s more than just a deep threat, too, as he’s also a complete route-runner. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to see him break away from Philly’s defensive backs in camp. Philadelphia got great value for Hightower in a loaded receiving class, and he’s a player who is capable of making some noise in Year 1.
Eagles Training Camp Practice Notes: Andre Dillard leaves early due to injury, again [UPDATE] - BGN
John Hightower made a highlight catch for the second day in a row. Sudfeld lofted a fade pass to the rookie wide receiver and Hightower made the play with James tightly contesting. Hightower has demonstrated he’s good at tracking the ball and winning on contested catches. He’s had a good camp. Don’t know how big of an offensive role he’s going to have but he should at least provide some depth.
Andre Dillard Out for the Year + Camp Recap - Day 10 - BGN Radio

The Eagles’ five most likely trade candidates - PhillyVoice
1) CB Sidney Jones. Why the Eagles would trade him: When the Eagles drafted Jones in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, they thought they were getting a first-round talent, but would only have to be a little patient while he recovered from a ruptured Achilles. Three injury-plagued and inconsistent years later, Jim Schwartz would probably prefer to play five other corners on the Eagles’ roster before he’d play Jones. Why some other team could have interest: Jones has inside-outside versatility, and he did flash at times last season, including two huge fourth down pass breakups that sealed wins against the Giants and Cowboys. A change of scenery could perhaps invigorate him.
Andre Dillard injury further clouds Eagles’ offensive line picture - ESPN
All eyes will be on the left tackle spot. Truth is, they already were. Dillard, the team’s 2019 first-round pick, added 20 pounds of muscle to his athletic frame this offseason and was being talked up by coaches, but there was uncertainty in some pockets of the organization about whether he was ready to take over full time. He was up and down at camp, leaving the discussion open as to whether he would be a stabilizing force or an issue come the regular season.
Rodney McLeod, Carson Wentz speak as Eagles opt to practice, eye tangible change - The Athletic
“We want them to speak out on a lot of these issues that exist for their players,” he said. “Just as much as we’re held accountable and we represent each organization in a certain way when we leave this building, we expect them to now stand up and speak out on these issues to protect us as Black men. And I think that is the message that we should, as players, should really enforce. It’s that these owners not only support us privately, but step up and support us publicly as well, as we’re dealing with a lot of these issues that exist right now. We got to hold these police officers to a certain standard. Hold them accountable. And until then, you know, we will continue to protest, continue to use our voice and continue to possibly take extreme measures. You’re witnessing that right now. When have we ever seen a group of athletes decide not to play a playoff, meaningful game? And that shows you the magnitude of the situation, that people are fed up, and enough is enough.”
Running Back Growth Potential Starts with Size - Football Outsiders
Meanwhile, many of the most compelling examples of players whose BMIs run counter to their assumed ceilings play in Elliott’s NFC East and its AFC equivalent. After Edwards-Helaire, the Eagles’ Miles Sanders (30.0) and the Bills’ Devin Singletary (29.5) are KUBIAK’s favorite backs that have never run at the volume we project for them this season. I believe they have the size and the skills to handle featured roles, even if the latter team’s selection of Zack Moss suggests otherwise. Washington’s Antonio Gibson (28.4) has a receiving track record to make even Edwards-Helaire jealous, but his 221-pound weight plays down at his height of 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-2. A finally healthy Bryce Love (30.3) might sneakily be a better upside pick.
The Five Types of NFL Title Windows - The Ringer
The Patriots have Bill Belichick. That’s why they’re on here. The Eagles are transitioning out of the inexpensive QB phase and into the next stage of their development. How long they remain a title contender will depend heavily on how good Carson Wentz actually is. The Seahawks have Russell Wilson and a long history of success. Their window isn’t wide open this year, but they have enough good pieces in place that they should be in the mix every season, and should plan for a long period of contention. The Colts round out the list with a mini all-in push behind Philip Rivers and a roster that is flush with talent.
Detroit Lions sign DT Kevin Wilkins, waive Olive Sagapolu - Pride Of Detroit
The Detroit Lions announced on Thursday morning just before practice that they have signed former Eagles defensive tackle Kevin Wilkins. The 6-foot-2, 304-pound lineman was an undrafted rookie last season, spending time on both the Eagles and Giants practice squads.
Browns sign center Jon Toth - Dawgs By Nature
Toth, who is 6-foot-5 and 298 pounds, originally signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017 as an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky. He bounced around on Philadelphia’s practice squad for two seasons before spending time on the practice squad of the New York Jets in 2018. Earlier this year he played with the D.C. Defenders of the short-lived XFL.
Will the Dallas Cowboys finish over or under 9.5 wins in 2020? - Blogging The Boys
Some people setting the over/under for Cowboys wins this year have chosen to slot that value in at 9.5. 72% of those polled by SB Nation Reacts, an overwhelming majority, believe that the Cowboys will hit the over on here which would mean that Dallas would win double-digit games in 2020. This season is going to look dramatically different than anything that has ever come before it. In normal times, it would seem rather easy to see the Cowboys winning 10 games this season, but the unknown that this year provides obviously exacerbates the difficulty level.
