Thursday Night Football in Week 8 pits Falcons & Panthers in NFC South rivalry

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

For the second time in four weeks, Carolina and Atlanta meet in a divisional battle.

Two teams who are on the Green Bay Packers’ 2020 schedule will meet this evening in a divisional clash on Thursday Night Football. The Packers effectively dismantled the Atlanta Falcons in week four, shutting down Matt Ryan and his wide receivers in a convincing 30-16 victory. The Falcons’ opponent this evening, the Carolina Panthers, will come to a chilly Lambeau Field in week 15 as the season begins winding to a close.

This year’s Panthers team looks very different from last year, with Teddy Bridgewater taking over under center and Matt Rhule in his first season as an NFL head coach. So far, results have been mixed; the Panthers lost two straight to start the season, then won three games in a row before losing their last two.

Tonight’s game will be the second and final meeting between these two teams this season, and the second in just 19 days. The Panthers won 23-16 in week five, beating Atlanta in their own building thanks in large part to a good day for Bridgewater.

Who will win tonight’s game? Tune in to find out.
