Lock and the Broncos are looking to build off their comeback win over LA today against the Falcons.
Good morning, Broncos Country!
There’s one question that looms as we head into today’s game.
What do Drew Lock and the Denver Broncos do for an encore?
They had a historic and remarkable comeback, but that’s in the past. The task now is build off of what they did against the Los Angeles Chargers. Are the Broncos able to take the next step on their path back to contention?
It’s fun to contemplate because as Adam Malnati and I have said on the MHR Radio Podcast, for the first time in five years there’s light at the end of this dark tunnel. There’s no doubt still some skepticism, as there should be. I still have it. But it’s good to feel some positive hope again.
The best way for Lock and Denver to take that next step is to start today’s game with the Falcons the way they ended the Chargers game. If the Broncos are able to do that, they put themselves in a great position to pull the upset. For those who bet on Denver, the team is 5-2 against the spread this season. That’s a fascinating stat.
As for Lock, I’m curious to see how he looks today. While the the Broncos no doubt will get a boost from that win over LA, Lock should get a confidence boost as well. He was phenomenal in the fourth quarter of that comeback win. If he’s able to carry that over to today, that will be huge for his development but also the team.
There are a lot of ifs in this piece.
But as noted earlier, it’s nice to have some positive hope again.
Will Denver bring us closer to the light of this dark tunnel?
