Snacks in line for Seahawks debut after Bryan Mone injury

On Monday afternoon, Pete Carroll was able to provide injury updates on a handful of players, some of whom left the Seahawks’ loss to the Bills banged up.

K.J. Wright, D.J. Reed, and Bryan Mone all came out of Buffalo with ankle injuries. Speaking to media on Monday, however, Carroll said just Mone’s is of note. Per Carroll, the second-year nose tackle suffered a high ankle sprain.

While a timeline wasn’t provided, it seems likely the injury keeps him out of the lineup in the short-term. Should that happen, it will open the door for Damon “Snacks” Harrison to debut for Seattle.

In addition to the three ankle injuries suffered against the Bills, Carroll also provided updates on a handful of other players. Tailbacks Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde are expected to practice in some capacity this week, with a chance to play against the Rams. It’s a similar situation for Ugo Amadi and Shaquill Griffin, though Griffin’s hamstring continues to limit him.

Finally, asked about the status of Rashaad Penny and Darrell Taylor, Carroll said there is still no timeframe on a return to practice, however, the pair have upped their rehab work.

So, while it will be touch and go for members of the Seahawks’ backfield and secondary this week, it appears as though Snacks Harrison will be ready to make his debut.
