Why an NFL free agent should sign with the Buffalo Bills

Are the Buffalo Bills an up-and-coming team or a team destined to always fail? NFL free agents are going to have to figure that out as they contemplate where to sign this off-season. With a bunch of cap space, Buffalo has the cash, but do they have the cachet?

Exciting Quarterback

The Bills have an exciting quarterback who showed everyone that he’s better than they thought when he was coming out of college. Josh Allen put his money where his mouth is plenty of times last off-season. He’s not afraid to go for the big play. He takes chances. He keeps plays alive. He has a great relationship with the other guys on his team. Receivers should be lining up to play with a guy like that.

Sean McDermott

People love playing for this guy. He holds everyone accountable but also respects every player in his locker room. When he disciplined Ray-Ray McCloud III and LeSean McCoy for separate incidents, he kept his mouth shut. He’s not looking for the spotlight, he’s just looking to win.

Stout defense

...most of the time. The Bills have exciting young linebackers, a stud cornerback, and Pro Bowl safeties, plus Jerry Hughes pressuring the quarterback. If they can add a pass rusher(s) this off-season, the defense could be next-level in 2019 and keep them in games even if the offense stinks. It can help mitigate the learning curve on the other side of the ball.

Room to grow

Speaking of the leaning curve, especially on offense, new players would have the opportunity to come in and make a big impact right away. Being seen as one of the guys that turned around a franchise has to look good from the outside, too. In some cases, the 2018 play was so bad, there’s nowhere to go but up.

Cap space

Buffalo has a whole lot of it. Come to the Bills and get paid.
