The first half of the Jets second 2019 pre-season game against the Atlanta Falcons is in the books, and the Jets trail the Falcons 10 - 6.
The Jets first string offense opened with an impressive scoring drive, going 66 yards in seven plays for the touchdown. Taylor Bertolet then continued the Jets kicking woes by missing the extra point. The first team offense did little damage the rest of the first quarter.
The Jets first string defense put consistent pressure on Matt Ryan and held the Falcons’ offense scoreless until deep into the second quarter.
The second team offense couldn’t get anything going under quarterback Trevor Siemian, who misfired repeatedly, and the Jets second team defense struggled to contain Matt Ryan and Matt Schaub, as the two Falcon quarterbacks led a pair of late scoring drives for a 10-6 Falcons lead at halftime.
We go into the second half with the Jets leading trailing by four points. This next half will be crucial for backups on both teams trying to secure a spot on the 53 man roster.
Enjoy the second half everyone.
