The rookie corner pulled up lame on a special teams play.
Bad news for one of the Falcons’ most exciting rookies. Kendall Sheffield, the team’s fourth-round selection out of Ohio University, started to limp heavily after a full-speed run down the sideline.
Hamstring, ruled out, per team
— Justin Felder (@Justin_FOX5) August 16, 2019
The game announcers guessed it was a hamstring injury based on what he was doing and how he fell. Most surprising was that Sheffield was ruled out almost immediately.
This is just a preseason game but Sheffield was already in to replace Damontae Kazee. Kazee left the game with a rib injury. The team is obviously not taking chances this early in preseason but hamstring injuries can linger. We should know more about his injury Friday.
