When I asked Jay Gruden today why he is confident they have the proper processes in place to heal their players despite all the examples of guys who have had issues, here is what he said: pic.twitter.com/oMDko7K1t2

Clean up: you don't have to designate to return. You can pull any two guys off IR as long as they start on your 53.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 18, 2019
Aka they could keep Colt and immediately IR him and then sign back someone they cut as long as that player cooperates.
They did this with B. Marshall last year.
Colt McCoy just spoke briefly in the locker room. He said he has gone to see the foot specialist a few times and things just aren’t right with his leg.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 18, 2019
He said “sooner rather than later, but we’ll see.” Still no timetable though.
So if McCoy can’t start, I guess it’s Keenum as starter?
— Sean Kennedy (@EatSleepRedskin) August 18, 2019
Keenum has not looked comfortable in the snaps he’s played so far.
I can't believe the corner they cut isn't Deion Harris.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 18, 2019
I typically don't care too too much about back end guys, but Harris has been consistently awful and he's the one who hurt McLaurin because he broke practice etiquette. Truly don't get it and it has nothing to do with Neal. https://t.co/MvyvVvjZgo
He challenged him on a ball he was beat on and played through him. McLaurin was airborne and landed on his tailbone.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 18, 2019
You don't do that in practice. You just get beat and tell your coach "I was there but didn't want to hurt my teammate" if you get questioned. https://t.co/rQCaacvDRC
Does keeping #Redskins WR Josh Doctson on the roster actually make sense?https://t.co/RR94JkYOZt
— Riggo's Rag (@RiggosRag) August 18, 2019
Christian looked like... an inexperienced tackle still learning. I'm not an expert, at all, on kick steps. But seems to get in trouble with his -- sometimes flat. gets off-balance. ideally he'd be a swing OT this year; losing last year and then no practice time in offseason hurts

Good sign for the #Redskins, as starting middle linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton is back in uniform. Hamilton has been sidelined since suffering a chest injury in the preseason opener.

He has torn cartilage in his ribcage. He can play through it, but it's painful. Not sure of the timetable of full recovery.

New England WR Dontrelle Inman has requested his release from the Patriots, and the club has agreed to release him, per @MikeReiss.

The NFL and NFLPA have worked hand in hand on Antonio Brown’s helmet issue. On Monday night, they jointly said the helmet model AB wants to use would be tested at same lab in Ottawa as other helmets. It failed. NFL and NFLPA engineers concurred. Thus it may not be worn.

Hello, breaking point. https://t.co/ELjPiTNh51
— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) August 18, 2019
The fact that the Raiders have not been able to squash this AB stuff behind closed doors and took it public could also signal team leaders - players, not just coaches or the front office - are over the antics.
— Steve Wyche (@wyche89) August 18, 2019
Can you imagine Antonio Brown retiring over the helmet he is being asked to wear? Leaving tens of millions on the table?
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) August 18, 2019
When you need to know if your best player is in or out, you've already lost. This is why you don't build a team around untrustworthy, immature superstars. https://t.co/rRHxDGcokS
This is as strong as it gets from a GM to a player. “Here’s the bottom line...” https://t.co/XSpKim4qls
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 18, 2019
The #Raiders have handled this perfectly. They've publicly supported him and tried everything they could.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 18, 2019
The mistake they made was trading for a guy who was willing to quit on his team in a playoff hunt. Brown is who he is. https://t.co/i7DixzsDPG
If he retires over this helmet issue and never plays another NFL down, is Antonio Brown a Hall of Famer?

Kwon Alexander has dubbed the 49ers linebackers the Hot Boyz. Not everyone can be the Hot Boyz.

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this Devaroe Lawrence kid in the preseason, but he has looked like a beast at DT. I found a very cool story about him by @MikeTriplett from a year ago: https://t.co/TYAstnge45

Per source, the Panthers have agreed to terms with former Washington OL Tyler Catalina. No word yet if he enjoys wine mixers.

TEXT from Bruce Allen: "You know why Antonio Brown can't find any Schutt AiR Advantage helmets? Because I have EVERY SINGLE ONE that will pass the test. I put my guy Anders Beutel on the case 2 weeks ago. He delivered! I have 73! We will be trading for AB84!"
