2) This is actually better for evaluation purposes.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 7, 2019
If Keenum and McCoy split the reps with the ones, they have to keep top guys in longer and they see less. Now can get a good look at Case and get their starters out. Could do the same in reverse next week with Colt playing.
Just wrote a full piece on McCoy sitting Thursday.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 7, 2019
It'll be up in the next half hour or so. It explains a lot more about where they are with McCoy and the ramifications for the other guys. Answers a lot of the questions I've been getting. Will post ASAP when it's up obviously.
1. #DwayneHaskins comes off smart, humble & self-aware every time he speaks. That guarantees nothing but is encouraging.
— Al Galdi (@AlGaldi) August 6, 2019
2. QB1 battle already being viewed as two-man race between Colt & Case indicates that Dan/Bruce forcing Dwayne on Jay for Week 1 is not happening.#Redskins
Earlier in camp, McCoy said he was still dealing with some things from the injury. They all need reps, but if one QB were going to miss he'd be the one who could afford it the most. Keenum/Haskins need the time so coaches can gauge their status better.
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 7, 2019
Craig Hoffman of 106.7 says that QB Colt McCoy is a lock for the 53-man roster. Out editor @AlanLepore has gone out on a limb and says it isnt a sure thing. Where do you think Colt will be come September 1? RT and comment. #Redskins #HTTR

A little preview of the the PPR WR rankings that are coming out in a bit - my highest ranked rookie receiver for redraft leagues is Terry McLaurin. He's got a strong chance to be their WR1 by the end of September.
— Brett Kollmann (@BrettKollmann) August 6, 2019
60 rec, 800+ yards, and 6 TDs over 16 games are my expectations.
Harry hasn't even beaten out a UDFA on his own team for the job yet.
— Brett Kollmann (@BrettKollmann) August 7, 2019
Jay. Gruden. Loves. Terry. McLaurin. He's like Ryan Grant, only an actual starting-caliber NFL receiver. Might replace Doctson Week 1.

"I didn't know he was this good" pic.twitter.com/HZMBAmAvNk
He’s a special competitor and has a special maturity for his age. We’ll see if he can turn that into being a special player (he has the speed) but comparing him to other rookies isn’t really fair. https://t.co/q0djsyhOzk

Holcomb has a chance to work into the rotation. I think he’s the Mike LB of the future here.

I also happened to sit down with him for 15 mins yesterday in a really fun interview. Posting soon.
(And yes Harmon is way behind McLaurin. Terry is special.) https://t.co/Nn1NupGTys

More good news for the #49ers: CB Jason Verrett also has a minor ankle sprain, following his MRI, I’m told. A sigh of relief there.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 8, 2019
The 49ers injuries today are the reason why I have said they have too many “ifs” on the roster this year....If Jimmy, Kwon, Dee, Jerick, Verrett, Tevin, Bosa, etc stay healthy...it’s a lot and a long season

— Brett Kollmann (@BrettKollmann) August 7, 2019
1. Franchise QB✅
2. Solid offensive line✅
3. Uber-talented RB✅
4. Good WR duo✅
5. Incredible DL rotation✅
6. Talented young LB corps✅
7. Secondary that isn't totally hot garbage✅
That smells like a playoff run to me, boys.
Since apparently people find it inconceivable that a bad team can become good, I'd like to remind everyone that they were skeptical when I said the same thing literally only 1 year ago about Chicago.
