How can you follow along with the action on Sunday?
We’re getting closer to the kickoff of Week 5 action in the National Football League, and the Minnesota Vikings will be taking their show on the road for the second consecutive week, this time traveling to battle the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. We want to make sure that everyone is able to follow along with all of the action, so we’ll be putting all of the info you need to do just that here in one convenient place.
Television Info
After a late start last week, the Vikings are back to the optimal time for a National Football League kickoff, that being noon Central time on Sunday. Also, they’re back on FOX this week, which is KSTP-9 in the Twin Cities. The play-by-play for this one will be handled by Sam Rosen and Charles Davis.
If you’re outside of the Twin Cities broadcast area, here is this week’s coverage map from the people at 506 Sports. The Vikings/Giants game is represented by the red area.
If you’ll be using the DirecTV Sunday Ticket package to watch this one, you’ll want to point your receiver to Channel 713.
For our fans in the United Kingdom, this one will not be airing live on any of the outlets on that side of the pond that carry NFL football. You’ll have to turn to NFL GamePass for this contest.
For our men and women in uniform overseas, the American Forces Network will not be showing this one live, either. They will be offering a replay that will kick off on AFN Sports at 1400Z on Monday. That’s a start time of 1500L for fans in Central Europe, 1730L for viewers in Afghanistan, and 2200L for everyone in Japan and Korea.
Radio Info
If you’re going to be traveling, if you simply prefer radio to television, or if you’d like to try to sync the radio feed up with the television broadcast, you can find a Vikings Radio Network affiliate in your area. Just click on the link to find the full list of partners across the Midwest.
If you prefer satellite radio, or if you’re too far outside of the Vikings Radio Network area to get the game there, you can tune to Sirius Channel 127. If you have an XM Radio, you’ll be stuck with the Giants Radio Network feed on XM Channel 231 to get the feed from the Vikings Radio Network. If you’ll be using the SiriusXM online app, the Vikings’ permanent home there is Channel 819.
Referee Info
The good folks at Football Zebras inform us that this week’s Vikings/Giants contest will be officiated by the crew led by Clete Blakeman. The Vikings last saw Blakeman in last year’s regular season finale, a 24-10 loss to the Chicago Bears at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Weather Info
According to our friends at WeatherNation, there’s a chance that this one could be a little bit on the wet side. The forecast for East Rutherford is currently showing isolated rain showers starting at around 9:00 AM and lasting through the game. The rest of the forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies, temperatures in the upper 60s at kickoff, and winds coming out of the south at around ten miles/hour.
Streaming Info
In order to stream this game in legal fashion, along with a lot of other non-football stuff, you can check out Fubo.tv for over 100 channels of live, streaming sports. They also have a free seven-day trial so that you can check out the service for yourself.
The other legal streaming alternative is NFL GamePass.
As always, we won’t be tolerating links to illegal streaming sites here at The Daily Norseman. Don’t post them or even hint at them. If you want an illegal stream that badly, do the search for it yourself. . .somewhere else.
That should be everything you need to keep track of all the action from MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon between the Vikings and the Giants, folks. We hope to see a bunch of you here for the Game Threads as well, with the first one coming up on the site at right around 11:00 AM Central time.
