Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets

Good morning, GGN! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. Shout out to Mr. Wells for holding down the fort over the weekend. And speaking of, it brought about two major changes for the Jets going forward; as LB CJ Mosley has decided to opt out of the 2020 season and the Jets cut their most tenured player in Brian Winters. This may come as a surprise to some, but I actually believe that Winters’ absence will loom larger for the team than Mosley’s. With Winters gone, the Jets will now have Greg Van Roten and Alex Lewis playing Guard. While Roten has potential to be a plus-starter, Alex Lewis is easily worse than Winters (as hard as that may be to believe). The biggest issue last year with the Jets was the offensive line. With Covid-19 being indiscriminate on who it effects (and who decides to opt out) depth is more important than ever. At linebacker, the Jets are actually well-off compared to most teams in that regard. But on the unfortunate chance that Lewis or Roten are unable to suit up it again becomes a real problem for the line and ultimately, Sam Darnold. So while Brian Winters tenure shouldn’t have lasted much longer with the team, the timing makes me hesitant to celebrate the move. With that, here are your links to the team this morning.
